Shining Stars Foundation

Children with cancer and life threatening diseases need a little fun in their lives! The Shining Stars Foundation is prepared to offer them LOTS of fun! Shining Stars is an organization whose mission is to provide sport, recreational and outreach programs for children dealing with difficult medical problems. With the help of hundreds of volunteers and businesses during the 2005-20o6 fiscal year, the Shining Stars Foundation touched the lives of over 620 children and their families, and indirectly serviced 3,000 unduplicated clients through their website.

The Aspen Winter Games, an annual event, is just one example of the many therapeutic recreational activities that this organization sponsors. In March, children with dibilitating medical problems, and who are typically challenged with additional, difficult social, and economic issues, come to Aspen for fun, laughter, and special activities in the snow! It's the largest and most exciting event of the year. Children are invited as guests -- at no cost to them or their families -- to participate in fun activities that would otherwise be difficult for them to attend.
