Create a Community of Caring

Community of Caring is an organization founded by Eunice Kennedy Shriver and developed by a group of philosophers, educators, health specialists, legal professionals, ethicists, policy makers, and psychologists.

The goal is to get the community to work together with the schools, to make a difference in the lives of children living in difficult situations. The Community of Caring builds its program around five basic values: Care, Respect, Responsibility Trust, and Family.

Students in three Community of Caring schools raised their grade point averages by 43%, 46% and 71% respectively. Students in a Community of Caring program show greater gains in knowledge about the adverse consequences and risks of early sexual activity.
