Jewish World Watch

Jewish World Watch is an organization that works to combat genocide and other catastrophic violations of human rights around the world. Jewish World Watch is committed to protecting refugee women and girls from rape and other forms of violence, and helping them to rebuild their lives.

200,000 women and children refugees live in camps in Chad across the border from Sudan. Women and girls are fleeing the genocide in Darfur in droves, but are placed in extreme jeopardy when undertaking the simple, but vital, task of collecting firewood for cooking fuel.

The Jewish World Watch organization is reducing the vulnerability of these women by providing the Iridimi and Touloum refugee camps in Chad with solar cookers thus reducing their need to collect firewood.

The JWW has another program that is vitally important: The BackPack project. This project was created so that hungry, frightened children in the refugee camps in Chad can attend schools. The packs are filled with shoes, books, school supplies, soap, and toothpaste.
