SOS Children's VillagesThere are more than a half a million abused and neglected children in the U.S. Foster Care system. For some of these kids, traditional foster care works well, but not for them all. Some kids stay in a kind of foster-care limbo for years, moving from one home to another, with no chance to bond or form attachments. Usually siblings are separated from each other.SOS Children's Villages is a postive alternative to the status quo. Founded in 1949 to provide families for orphaned and abandoned children, SOS Children's Villages are dedicated to giving children a permanent family and a home they can call their own. With over 450 Villages in 132 countries worldwide, SOS Families make the committment to raise several children as a family unit until the children become young adults. Each village is made up of about 10 families. These families/communities are dedicated to creating an environment where the children can grow, heal, and feel safe and loved. SOS Children's Villages can benefit from your help! For more info, contact them at (202) 347-7920 Or write to: SOS Children's Villages-USA 1317 F.
